TEAS 7 Exam Structure (Current Version)

ATI TEAS 7 (launched June 2022) replaced TEAS 6, and most nursing programs no longer accept scores from the older version. The current exam has 170 total questions: 150 scored plus 20 unscored pretest questions, in 209 minutes, with a mandatory 10-minute break after the Mathematics section (the break does not count toward the 209 minutes).

TEAS 7 Question Types

TEAS 7 added new question formats on the computer-based version (the older TEAS 6 was multiple-choice only):

• Multiple choice (4 options)
• Multiple select (choose all that apply; a wrong or missed selection means no credit)
• Supply answer (type a word or number)
• Hot spot (click on 1 to 5 areas of an image)
• Ordered response (drag items into order; any item out of order means no credit)

ATI does not set a uniform passing score. Each nursing program sets its own admission threshold; many programs use a composite score around 70 percent. Check your target program's requirements.

3. How many questions is the TEAS?

4. How much does the TEAS cost?
